On this first day of summer, our friend and colleague Massimo Tedeschi passed away.
The European Federation of Napoleonic Cities–Destination Napoleon is deeply affected by this loss.
Since the early stages of the Cultural Routes of the Council of EuropeMassimo is convinced that the Cultural Routes are unique tools for building bridges between Europeans, involving local communities and young people.
He is an example to all those working on cultural routes. Visit Via Francigena was his dream, and thanks to his extreme humility, tenacity, vision, positivity and pragmatism, it is now a reality.
We've been lucky enough to meet him often and work with him over the last ten years, most recently on the idea of a Council of Europe Cultural Routes Manifesto, and on the intersections and crossroads between the Francigena and Destination Napoleon.
The Honorary President, Charles Bonaparte, the President, Vincent Chauvet, the Director, Eleonora Berti, the former Director, Jacques Mahdi Mattei, and the entire team and members of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities, stand by the side of Massimo's family, friends and colleagues at this difficult and sad time.
We imagine him walking in peace along his beloved Via Francigena.
For our part, we will pursue the projects we discussed together, which will be his legacy and our tribute to him and to our shared idea of Europe.
