Annual General Meeting of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities 2025

L'General Assembly Annual European Federation of Napoleonic Cities 2025 took place from 5 to 7 May at Lucca, in Italy. On the first day, participants had the opportunity to explore the city and its Napoleonic sites, as well as the exhibition «Recognising the Walls».

The second day was devoted to the statutory meeting and the presentation of projects and activities carried out by the FECN-.Destination Napoleon and by its members. Furthermore, the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities and the’Association Européenne des Vie Francigene have signed a cooperation agreement with one another, with a view to developing a new tourism and cultural strategy. During the afternoon, participants took part in two workshops led by Professor Maria Laura Gasparini of the University of Bologna and Eleonora Berti, director of the FECN, entitled: «Interpretation of Napoleonic heritage, community engagement and cultural tourism: an exchange of best practice» and «Destination Napoleon: signage at sites and along the routes of the Cultural Route».

The third day featured guided tours: the Palazzo Mansi National Museum, the exhibition «Elisa Baciocchi’s Green Revolution» at the Lucca Botanical Gardens, the olfactory trail «The Nose and History», and the Elisa Theatre at the Ducal Palace.
