Ancona: membership ceremony

To celebrate its membership of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities, the municipality of Ancona, Italy, organised three Napoleonic Days from 20 to 22 June 2025..

From 20 to 22 June 2025, the town ofAncona celebrated its accession to the European Federation of Napoleonic CitiesDestination Napoleon. For three days, the city was the setting for historical dances, guided tours of Ancona's history and Napoleonic sites, and a themed meeting led by Professor Luigi Mascilli Migliorini, a member of the FECN Scientific Committee.

The city's accession ceremony took place on 22 June 2025 at the Loggia dei Mercanti in the presence of: Eleonora Berti, Director of the FECNDaniele Silvetti, Mayor of Ancona, Daniele Berardinelli, Ancona's Deputy for Tourism, Marta Paraventi, Ancona's Deputy for Culture, and Carlo Ciccioli, Member of the European Parliament. Visit Chairman of the FECNVincent Chauvet, and honorary chairmanCharles Bonaparte, took part in the event via video.

The signing of the membership certificate was followed by a technical meeting on possible cooperation strategies between FECN-Destination Napoleon and the municipality of Ancona, at which Mitar Kisjelica, Undersecretary for Social Affairs and International Cooperation of the city of Ancona, took the floor.Herceg NoviEmanuela Panke, President of the cultural itinerary certified by the Council of Europe Iter Vitis-Trails of the vineRoberto Ciambetti, member of the European Committee of the Regionsand Simone Percacciolo, who is responsible for promoting Palazzo Reale, Milan. The meeting ended with the signing of a memorandum between the mayor of Ancona and the mayor of Herceg Novi, with a view to establishing cooperation between the two towns.

Finally, a round table discussion moderated by Sergio Sparapani, journalist, Luigi Mascilli Migliorini and Josko Belamaric, members of the scientific committee of the Federation, highlighted the importance of Napoleonic history along the Adriatic coast.
