On 17 November 2021, Charles Bonaparte, President of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities, visited the Syndicat d'Initiative de Ligny-Sombreffe for the meeting of the Walloon member cities and partners of the Federation.

During this meeting, the participants discussed, among other things, the importance of bringing together all the municipalities and museums concerned in the Walloon region to create an itinerary around the battle of 1815. This route, which was already partially marked out on the spot by Wallonia Belgium Tourism a few years ago, needs to be revived and updated.

The possibility of creating a pass for museums related to Napoleonic heritage in the region was also discussed. The Federation will soon organise a meeting in order to carry out these different projects in common with the member cities and partners.

Meeting in the presence of Philippe Leconte (Sombreffe Town Hall), Benoît Histace (Ligny 1815 Museum), Pierre d'Harville (founder of the Ligny 1815 Museum), Laurent Fauville (Fleurus Tourist Office), Véronique Denis-Simon (Alderman of Braine-l'Alleud), Antoine Champagne (Waterloo 1815 Memorial) and Marie Wautelet (Charleroi Town Hall).
