On 7 and 8 June 2025, the ‘Journées Impériales’ took place in Val de Louyre and Caudeau (FR) to celebrate the town’s membership of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities.

The official ceremony to welcome the municipality of Val de Louyre and Caudeaumember of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities and Destination Napoleon since 2024, took place on 7 June 2025 in the presence of Vincent ChauvetPresident of the FECN, Philippe Ducène, Mayor of Val de Louyre et Caudeau, and Baudoin de Witt, President of the Friends of the FECN. The ceremony was followed by a large, convivial lunch to the tune of *Le Chant du Départ*, the French national anthem since 1804.
The event forms part of the Imperial Days, a major historical re-enactment organised by the’Greater Périgueux Intercommunal Tourist Office. Over two days, on 7 and 8 June, visitors were able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the First Empire through live performances, such as historical dances and cavalry displays, craft and food villages, and guided tours of the Napoleon Museum, with the aim of introducing as many people as possible to this rich local heritage.
