From 2 December 2023 to 20 January 2024 at the Théâtre de Nesle in Paris, France.
Written and directed by Nathalie Ganem, the play sheds light on France's and the French people's missed rendezvous with Napoleon Bonaparte and his destiny. On 21 June 1815, after his defeat at Waterloo, the Emperor rushed back to the Élysée Palace to take up arms again, hoping to win back the enthusiasm of the population and national unity. But he was to find his worst enemy, Joseph Fouché, lining the walls of the Palace, who would unfortunately decide his fate.
The opinion of Professor Jacques-Olivier Boudon, Chairman of our Board of Directors Scientific Committee :
"Seen yesterday afternoon Rendezvous at the ElyséeThis play, written and directed by Nathalie Ganem at the Théâtre de Nesle, tells the story of Napoleon's last hours at the Elysée Palace before his second abdication on 22 June 1815, during exchanges with Fouché and Hortense de Beauharnais. The text is accurate, the set sober, but above all the actors are very present and embody their characters. I recommend it! "
The play will be performed at the Théâtre de Nesle in Paris from 2 December 2023 to 20 January 2024.
