The exhibition on General Thévenet will run from 24 November 2023 to 16 December 2023 at the Maison de la Mémoire in Coudekerque-Branche, France.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of General Thévenet, the town of Coudekerque-Branche organised an exhibition on this historic figure, who was mayor of the town from 1826 to 1827. Louis-Marie-Joseph Thévenet had an exceptional career from 1793 to 1815 on all the battlefields of the French Revolution and the First Empire. He was also first deputy mayor of Dunkirk (1827-1838) and acting mayor of Dunkirk in 1838.
The General's bicorne, collar, sleeve tab, buttons and war paint, as well as historical documents such as his service record, will be on display at the Maison de la Mémoire, soon to be an annex to the Musée de l'Armée at the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris. ParisThe Choquet-Thévenet family has made a number of unique items available for the exhibition, including uniforms from the Choquet-Thévenet family.
The exhibition can be viewed from 24 November to 20 December from Tuesday to Saturday, 2pm to 6pm, at the Maison de la Mémoire-Maître de Poste, 48 rue Béranger, Coudekerque-Branche.
