From 16 to 18 September 2022. Coudekerque-Branche, France.
In the context of the European Heritage Days in Francethe city of Coudekerque-Branche is organising a multi-epoch camp at the Vernaelde farm from 16 to 18 September 2022. Among the activities proposed for the Napoleon period covering the Revolution and the 1st Empire, we find:
- The soldiers' uniforms
- Presentation of the different units
- Presentation of a General Staff
- Military strategy
- Presentation of the construction of a bridge
- Manoeuvre demonstration
- Learning about training
- Calligraphy
- My grandfather, soldier of Napoleon
- The soldier's meal
- Daily life
- The weapons
- Customs and Gendarmerie
This event is an important educational and recreational moment for the region. On Friday 16 September, the multi-epoch camp will welcome 2,400 pupils from CE1 to 5e, i.e. approximately 100 classes from 30 schools in the region.
Many re-enactment groups will participate in the event. Those concerned with the Napoleonic period are :
