An immersive experience: Napoleon in virtual reality in Milan

The 27 February 2026, l’French Institute Milano hosts the launch of the virtual reality exhibition «Napoleon: The Glory, The Fall, The Legend», an immersive experience dedicated to the life of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Produced by Sandora, partner of Destination Napoléon, This innovative installation combines historical rigour and immersive technologies to offer the public a new way of discovering Napoleonic history.

A spectacular immersion in the Napoleonic epic

Thanks to a 360-degree virtual reality, Visitors are invited to take a trip back in time and relive key moments in Napoleon's life.

This immersive experience follows the Emperor's exceptional destiny through several major episodes in his life:

  • the meteoric rise of the young corsican general ;
  • the great military victories and the building of the Empire ;
  • the political challenges and upheavals of Napoleonic Europe ;
  • the fall and birth of a legend that still marks European history.

Thanks to an immersive narrative and spectacular visual reconstructions, the public finds itself at the heart of historic events, It was as if he had witnessed first-hand the great scenes of Napoleon's epic.

History and innovation at the service of cultural mediation

This project illustrates the evolution of forms of cultural mediation through the use of digital technologies.

By combining historical research, storytelling and virtual reality, Sandora offers a new, more immersive and accessible approach to history, particularly for young visitors and those familiar with digital technologies.

This approach is also in line with the objectives of Destination Napoléon - Council of Europe Cultural Route, which aims to promote Napoleonic heritage across Europe and encourage new forms of cultural dissemination.

Presented to the’French Institute Milano, Located in the heart of the city, this immersive experience is part of the institution's cultural programme dedicated to promoting Franco-Italian culture and cooperation.

The event highlights the vitality of European cultural exchanges and the capacity of cultural institutions to propose innovative formats for transmitting history.

A partnership serving member towns

Beyond this presentation in Milan, this collaboration between Sandora and the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities is part of a wider approach to cultural dissemination across the network. As part of this partnership FECN member towns can benefit from advantageous conditions for hosting this type of immersive exhibition in their area. This opportunity allows local authorities to offer their residents and visitors a new approach to Napoleonic history, one that is innovative, accessible and attractive, while at the same time enriching their cultural programming with a tried and tested feature.
