The town of Fleurus, in Belgium, has reopened the doors of the Château de la Paix.

After a lengthy restoration of the building, the town of Fleurus has reopened the doors of the Château de la Paix, where Napoleon stayed after his victory on the battlefield of Saint-Amand - Ligny in 1815.
The memory of this historic moment has never faded in Fleurus. A visit to Napoleon's bedroom, reconstructed with careful scenography, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere that reigned there. A number of intriguing details are scattered around the room, to the delight of lovers of the "little story behind the big story". The Napoleon Room can be visited by prior arrangement all year round.
The work was the result of a complex fund-raising operation led by the town to ensure that the château could be restored and opened to the public.
This is an example that was shared with other member cities at theGeneral Meeting 2023 held in AutunFrance.
