From 24 to 26 May 2024, the town of La Roche-sur-Yon in France celebrated its 220th anniversary.

Founded on 25 May 1804 by Napoleon and designated as the capital of the Vendée, the town of La Roche-sur-Yon celebrated its 220th anniversary this year. From Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May 2024, the town immersed itself in its Napoleonic past through Les Impériales, a major celebration with events and activities on the theme of the First Empire.
Nearly 7,000 people took part in the event, immersing themselves for a weekend in the atmosphere of a Napoleonic camp and bivouac life.
More than 200 re-enactors from all over France and abroad presented uniforms, trades, shooting demonstrations and military manoeuvres, much to the delight of visitors.
