The Museo Glauco Lombardi, in collaboration with the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities, presents the exhibition "Napoleone 1821" which will run from May 5 to September 26, 2021.

The event celebrates the bicentenary of Napoleon's death: the news went around the world, but it arrived in Parma with an inexcusable delay, which greatly troubled the government in the management of the mourning procedure and the uneasy management of the emperor's will.

It also had a remarkable impact on the life of the newly widowed Duchess Marie Louise, who was finally able to give legitimate form to her relationship with General Neipperg. These and other aspects of this delicate period - including the particular cult of Saint Napoleon in the Duchy of Parma - are explored in the dedicated catalogue.
