Creative Europe
The European Commission announced on 26 May the launch of the Creative Europe programme for the period 2021-2027. It will put more emphasis on transnational creation, innovation, mobility of artists and professionals.
The increase in the budget for the period 2021-2027 (€2.44 billion instead of €1.47 billion for 2014-2020) also marks the desire to make Creative Europe a more inclusive, digital and environmentally sustainable programme.
The two main objectives of Creative Europe for 2021-2027 are:
- to safeguard, develop and promote European cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage
- increase the competitiveness and economic potential of the cultural and creative sectors, in particular the audiovisual sector
